By age 17, she was represented by the Tony Jones Gallery in Houstons Museum District. Over the course of an extensive career spanning Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, and Arizona, Melissa became a master of diverse mediums, honing her craft under renowned mentors including silversmith Paul Casteel, wire sculpture artist Preston Reuther, De Beers Diamond Award-winning goldsmith Terry Cox, and master glass artist Browen Heilman. While maintaining a successful career in fine art painting and commissions, Melissa launched a highly regarded jewelry line featured in exclusive boutiques and galleries nationwide. She also served as a respected instructor for the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies, sharing her expertise in design, manufacturing, and marketing. Known for masterfully adapting her aesthetic to reflect the unique character of the regions where she worked, Melissas designs are celebrated for their quality, avant-garde flair, and timeless, organic appeal. Now based in Tennessee after 30+ years in the industry, Melissa is liquidating her curated studio collection.
