March 2022 Fine Asian Arts & Antiques, Session 2

Oakridge Auction Gallery is excited to announce its first large auction of the year: its yearly Spring Fine Asian Art & Antiques sale packed with an array of exciting lots of Chinese art. Scheduled for March 16-19, 2022, this auction will feature nearly 1000 lots separated into four sessions: Session 1 - Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art I beginning at 9 am EDT on March 16, Session 2 - Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art II beginning at 9 am EDT on March 17,Session 3 - Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy beginning at 9 am EDT on March 18, andSession 4 - Chinese Snuff Bottles beginning at 9 am EDT on March 19.Session 2: With over 200 lots, Session 2 is a continuation of Session 1, picking up with more priceless ceramics and progressing to other works of art including sculpted bronzes and Buddhas, wood carvings, and delicate textiles like embroidered dragon robes.The highlight of this section is none other than Lot 425, an luxurious bronze sculpture in the shape of a tapir with gilt decoration and silver inlay accents. Other important lots include a large bronze censer decorated with sea monsters and dating from the Qianlong period, a pair of kesi civil rank badges dating from the Ming Dynasty, and an early 19th century gunfu robe with patches representing some of the Twelve Symbols of Sovereignty.Bidding is available online, by telephone, and by absentee bidding.
