A rare opportunity to buy quality timeless design pieces with decorator detailing at auction. This pre-Civil War home is packed with hand-picked treasures in a range of classic styles. The centerpiece of the home, a 30 lamp Austrian crystal chandelier is held above a lacquered brass Hollywood Regency style Mastercraft dining table with seating for 12. Filling out the rest of the room is a custom-made hand carved oversize Baker mirror and marble topped oak console, Capodimonte multi-figural porcelain, marble Hermes bust on pedestal, and Bohemian glassware. The sitting room features matching marble topped Louis XV style commodes with brass figural detailing. A French Empire style chair with carved swan side arms sits next to the marble topped inlaid tea table. The down-filled French Empire dragon style settee finished in silk with matching pillows faces the Wm. Knabe & Co baby grand piano. Looking over the entire room is a breathtaking oversized etched Venetian mirror.Remarkable eclectic pieces which have been meticulously cared for are found throughout the home. Finishing touches include Gorham & Sheridan silver plate, original oil paintings, pairs of richly upholstered armchairs, incredible oversized Oriental carpets, Limoges serving pieces, Asian and Fitz & Floyd ceramics and gilded candelabras.
