Description
Online Auction Honoring the extraordinary Life and Legacy of Avicia H. Thorpe (19082020) - the oldest known person to be living in Virginia at the time of her passing. Born in Danville and living to the remarkable age of 112, Mrs. Thorpe witnessed more than a century of history, transformation, and triumphleaving an indelible mark on her community. A proud graduate of Bluefield State College, Mrs. Thorpe dedicated her life to education. She taught English at Westmoreland High School and later at John M. Langston High School in Danville, inspiring generations of students with her intellect and grace. A devoted member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she embodied a lifelong commitment to service, and was active with the YWCA, the local NAACP chapter, her church and other groups.***ONE DAY ONLY FOR PICKUP, FRIDAY, MAY 30th, Danville, VA******PICKUPS are by Appointment Only - call 434-836-4636 or email: bandhauction@gmail.com***PICK UP LOCATION: Private Home, Danville, VA 24541 - Address will be provided to successful biddersPICK UP DATE & TIME: FRIDAY, May 30th from 10am - 3:45pmIf you cannot make this pickup date, please do not bid.
