Kansas City Rep Theatre, Prop & Costume Auction
BIDDING This auction has over 1200 lots, each lot has multiple photographs of the item. In order to bid you will need to spend about 5 minutes to create an account. After creating an account, you can bid on any of our auctions. Each auction has a registration step. This is your opportunity to put in the credit card that will be charged for your winnings. NOTE: We understand there will be many educators & businesses that wish to use business checks for this auction. You will not be able to switch credit cards after you register, you must contact us. Condition of ItemsThese items are from the Kansas City Reparatory Theatre's prop and costume warehouse. You are bidding on items that have been in production use and/or storage. The clothing/costumes range from like new condition to altered, mended, worn, stained, etc. The KCRep has received many donations of beautiful vintage clothing, some never used in a production. The size on the label may not be reliable. We attempted to note obvious condition issues on select pieces. The furs are vintage and will most likely need some degree of repair. The shoes, hats, & purses have been stored mostly in large bins or boxes. The vintage dress forms used in some of the photos are marked size 12, but sometimes fit things as small as size 8. We tried to show pictures of the garments that we were unable to completely zip up the back of the forms. We also tried to show flaws in the smaller groups of garments through pictures but we are not sure we caught everything.The furniture and props have been heavily used. All items are sold as-is. Some of the furniture and props have been created in house and look like authentic antique items. We have noted 'prop' in the description of the items we are certain to be props. Much of the furniture has been repaired, recovered, painted, adapted. Items such as the cigarette machine, Pepsi machine, record lathes, and other electronics were used as props, none of the electronic items have been tested. Any sign/advertising piece that looks to be vintage or antique should be assumed a prop and an authentic antique only after inspecting the photographs.There is no preview for this auction. Everything is AS-IS. PARKING & PICK UP This auction pick-up will be held in the Downtown Underground Caves. The staging area for vehicles is at the upper parking lot located at 3101 Mercier St, Kansas City, MO. Please come to this address and wait to be sent down to the unit. We will have two opportunities for pick up. Pick-ups will be scheduled based on the number of lots you purchased and the difficulty involved in removing them. Approximately 12 appointment times per hour will be scheduled. We will have staff stationed at the upper level parking communicating with dock staff and will send people down as parking space allows. NOTE: If you can not pick up your items by Monday, July 30th at 6pm they will be considered forfeited, there are no refunds for abandoned items. We will begin to finalize the schedule for pick up on the morning of Thursday, July 26th. In the meantime, feel free to email carrie@catesauction.com for appointment requests. If you cannot make the pick-up days listed, please do not bid. You are welcome to send someone to pick up your items for you. The two opportunities will be:10-6 Friday, July 27th 10-6 Monday, July 30thSHIPPING:We exclusively use a local UPS store to pack and ship. We are not equipped to pack and ship on our own but have partnered with a local UPS store to provide this service for our customers. We will hand deliver your items to UPS located at 5400 JOHNSON DR, MISSION, KS 66205 they will call you to discuss the type of packing and shipping you would like. You are absolutely welcome to have the shipper of your choice pick the items up from the cave auction at your scheduled pick up appointment.
