This online auction is to raise money for Petra Peacebuilders, a non-profit organization that seeks to foster resilience in humanitarians and peacebuilders.Enjoy a private pool in a beautiful landscaped and wooded property. Located along the Pequea Creek in West Lampeter Township, the roads leading to the property provide scenic views that include 2 covered bridges and an old mill. The property can accommodate 50 people, more if carpooling is utilized. Come for a day, afternoon, or evening. Great for relaxing with friends, birthday parties, a ladies day trip, a family reunion, or a small business picnic.What is Petra Peacebuilders?Petra Peacebuilders in a non-profit organization that provides coaching and training for humanitarians and peacebuilders serving in difficult places. Field work takes a heavy toll and Petra Peacebuilders exists to help the helpers build personal and professional resilience tools.Why am I doing this? (A personal note from Mary)Im completing my masters in Emergency Management from Millersville University in 2018. Increased awareness of the enormity of need for the hurting people of the world can at times be mobilizing and at other times paralyzing. Im appreciative of the multiplying effect that Petra Peacebuilders has when they help the helpers. I find that inspiring. I will be volunteering with the organization for 5 weeks in 2018, providing expertise in business structure and sustainable growth. Every business needs capital, so Im doing my part to raise some. Every dollar will go to the organization. I am covering my own expenses when volunteering. My aim is to leverage my home property to be a blessing. This place is an outpouring of my love for nature, my creativity, and my effort. Come and enjoy, and help me to bless Petra Peacebuilders in this way.Property Amenities include:Pool includes a large 3 ft area for children, 2 tables with umbrella, Built-in deck benches, 6 lounge chairs,. The Pool House has a Bathroom, Shower, Kitchen, Sink, Drinking water, Refrigerator and freezerThe Grounds have a wooded area with access across small bridge and wood-chip path, a fire ring with stacked wood as well as a Pavilion, Picnic table, Tiki lamps, 6 camp chairs, 4 hot dog or marshmallow forksThe Gardens consist of a Flower Garden with a swing and Walking pathsA Bird Garden with a wide variety of birds visit 4 feedersThe Backyard Garden with a swing and secluded seating for three, a patio with table with seating for 6, additional bench seating for 5 and a grillThe Lawns have multiple options for shade or sun and plenty of room for outdoor games, complete with hammocks.There is also a Basketball net, a mowed lawn along Pequea Creek which is a common fishing spot.Located between 2 covered bridges, one is .5 miles away, the other is about 1 mile away.Optional (2) 12X12 tents and over-night stay negotiableGarage AreaSize: 3 car garage, (6) 8 ft. tables, (1) 4ft table, (2) card tables, (33) folding chairsWe want you to enjoy your time at Marys Place. Here are the Conditions of Use:1. Payment (Donation to Petra Peacebuilders) required before use of property, and is non-refundable for weather cancellations.2. For safety reasons, no alcohol permitted if any guests are children.3. One member of the party will sign a waiver assuming all responsibility for disseminatingconditions of use among the group as well as accepting liability for safety and damage.4. No children in the pool without safety vests (provided by guests) unless they can swim.5. Adults must be on guard at the pool at all times.6. Typical pool rules will be posted.7. No loud music.8. Clean up all trash, the place is to be left as you found it.9. Hours of use are 10:00 AM 9:30 PM.10. Guests are responsible for any damage to the property.11. Children may not play at the road or creek unsupervised.12. Stay on walking paths. There is poison ivy in the woods13 Owner reserves the right to require guests to leave if conditions are not met.
